Update from Joe McKillips, NETS’ Executive Director – July 2017

It’s hard to believe that we’re already halfway through 2017!  Yet as we look ahead to the remainder of the year, there are a number of noteworthy initiatives coming up that are designed to help members and non-members alike enhance their road safety programs.
  • Annual Customer Satisfaction Survey.  Watch for our upcoming NETS customer satisfaction survey, where members will have the opportunity to reflect on the impact and value NETS products and services have had on their company road safety program and to share ideas for future consideration. New for this year: a section will be included in the survey to capture international needs and challenges that you may be facing in meeting the unique aspects of a multi-national road safety program.
  • 2nd Drive Safely Work Week™ (DSWW) campaign for 2017. Our next campaign, to be released in August, will focus on the challenges associated with distracted driving, along with tangible solutions employers and employees can implement to reduce the risk associated with this significant road safety challenge.
  • 2017 Annual Strength in Numbers® Conference, scheduled for October 11-12th in Charlottesville, VA. This year’s event includes a special opportunity to experience a half-day tour of the Insurance Institute for High Safety (IIHS)/Highway Loss Data Institute (HLDI) Vehicle Research Center (VRC) where attendees will be able to witness a live car-to-car crash test and participate in numerous hands-on vehicle demonstrations highlighting a number of safety technology features and benefits. Keynote speakers were announced last month, and a full list of speakers will be unveiled by early August. Don’t miss your chance to interact with other road safety professionals. Register today at Conference Registration.
  • The 2016 Strength in Numbers® Benchmark Report will be delivered as part of our Annual Conference in October and made available to all NETS members. A summary of key report findings and correlations between crash performance and leading program initiatives will be highlighted within the report.
In the meantime, we will also be working on an in-depth review and update of the NETS long range strategic plan to ensure our products and services are meeting the needs of NETS members and association Sponsors.
