Sandra Lee to lead employer-led road safety organization
Vienna, Va. – The Network of Employers for Traffic Safety (NETS) is pleased to announce the election of Sandra Lee, Director, Worldwide Road Safety for Johnson & Johnson, as NETS Board Chairperson for 2012 and 2013. Lee replaces Bill Windsor, Associate Vice President for Nationwide Insurance, following a successful two-year term. Lee has global responsibility for Johnson & Johnson’s SAFE Fleet, providing road safety leadership to over 33,000 drivers worldwide and has been a member of the NETS Board of Directors since 2009.
During her previous service to the Board, Lee has contributed to NETS’ role as a member of the United Nations Road Safety Collaboration, the principal steering committee for the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020. Lee also has helped to shape NETS STRENGTH IN NUMBERS Road Safety Benchmark program and has consistently been a member of the steering committee for its annual Drive Safely Work Week™ campaign.
“NETS mission is very much in line with Johnson & Johnson’s commitment to global road safety,” said Lee. “I look forward to building upon NETS’ successes as we continue to collaborate with our corporate members and public sector partners to boost the contributions employers can make to driver safety worldwide.”
“NETS is privileged to have a Board comprised of the best executive leadership, committed to advancing not only road safety but the driving safety of all employees, their family members and the communities served by employers,” said Jack Hanley, NETS Executive Director. “Sandra understands the complexity of road safety challenges around the world and brings to the Chairmanship a passion for reducing the toll of traffic crashes both in the U.S. and worldwide.”
