International Partners

Brake, the road safety charity

Brake

Every 30 seconds someone, somewhere in the world is killed in a road crash. Many more are killed by respiratory diseases from air pollution caused by road traffic. Brake works to stop road deaths and injuries; supports people bereaved or injured in road crashes; and campaigns for sustainable transport. Brake is a member of the Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety.

Driving for Better Business

Driving for Better Business is a free to access government-backed National Highways programme, delivered in partnership with RoadSafe, to help employers in both the private and public sectors reduce work-related road risk, control the associated costs and improve compliance with current legislation and guidance.

FIA Foundation

The FIA Foundation is an independent UK registered charity which supports an international programme of activities promoting road safety, the environment and sustainable mobility, as well as funding motor sport safety research.

Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety

Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety

NGOs play a vital role in the growing worldwide movement to reduce the impact of road traffic injuries on society via advocacy and the implementation of evidence-based programs to reduce crashes and assist the injured. The purpose of the Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety and the Global Meetings is to help coordinate the activities of NGOs and assist in the dissemination of best practices for programs, fund-raising, communications, and more.

United Nations Road Safety Collaboration (UNRSC)

United Nations Road Safety Collaboration (UNRSC)

The UNRSC is an informal consultative mechanism whose goal is to facilitate international cooperation and strengthen global and regional coordination among UN agencies and other international partners to implement UN General Assembly Resolutions on road safety.

The UNRSC brings together representatives from Members States, UN agencies, Development Banks, and other global road safety stakeholders from NGOs, academia, philanthropic foundations and private sector.

The International Road Assessment Programme (iRAP) is a registered charity dedicated to saving lives by eliminating high risk roads throughout the world. iRAP works in partnership with governments, road authorities, mobility clubs, development banks, NGOs and research organisations.

The following road safety resources are available at no charge and can be used by private sector organisations for optimal route management; safe school journeys; and reducing road injuries and fatalities.

  • The global impact of crashes by injury type
  • The Human Impact of Road Crash Injuries
  • Country specific data on how safe roads are; the injury types and cost by country and the business case for safer roads
  • A list of all various iRAP tools and how they can be used

The UN Road Safety Fund is based around partnerships between organizations worldwide that care about making roads safer for people in lower- and middle-income countries. Unsafe traffic and road conditions are a major cause of preventable deaths.

The Fund has helped elevate critical aspects of national road safety systems in 30 countries across 5 regions. This is a good start, but it is not enough when we consider that there are 125 low- and middle-income countries in need of road safety expertise. Mobilizing additional funding could ensure support to 60 new countries, bringing the total of UNRSF supported countries to 90 by the end of 2025.

Who Can Donate to the Fund?
