Tom Karnowski of USIC Installed as NETS Board Chairperson for 2026 and 2027

VIENNA, Va. — The Network of Employers for Traffic Safety (NETS) is pleased to announce the installation of Tom Karnowski, Vice President of Environment, Health and Safety, USIC, as NETS Board Chairperson for 2026 and 2027, following the completion of Jenn Guerrini’s successful two-year term as Board Chair.

During her tenure, Guerrini—Vice President, Global Transportation Industry Leader, Risk Consulting, Chubb—helped strengthen private-sector engagement and advance employer-led road safety initiatives across multiple industries.

“Jenn has led NETS with clarity and commitment, and I’m deeply appreciative of her service as Board Chair,” said Karnowski. “It’s an honor to follow her and to continue working alongside her and the entire NETS Board as we carry forward the important work of advancing employer-led road safety initiatives.”

Karnowski has served on the NETS Board of Directors since 2022 and brings extensive experience in environmental health and safety, fleet operations, and workforce risk management. In his role at USIC, he oversees enterprise-wide EHS strategy and has held executive responsibility for fleet operations. He also drives USIC’s Operations Risk Council, a senior-level forum focused on infrastructure damage prevention and field workforce safety.

Prior to joining USIC, Karnowski held multiple global leadership roles with Granite Services, a GE affiliate, including Global EHS Director and Global Training Director. Earlier in his career, he served on active duty as a U.S. Navy submarine officer, completing more than two decades of combined active and reserve service.

NETS thanks Jenn Guerrini for her leadership and service as Board Chair and looks forward to her continued engagement on the Board, as well as to Tom Karnowski’s leadership as Chair as the organization continues its work to advance employer-led road safety initiatives.
